The Tri County Workforce Investment Board along with Aroostook Washington Workforce Investment board seeks an intern to work in our Downtown Bangor office for 16-24 hours per week.

SUPERVISOR: Workforce Coordinator
Position Summary:
The program intern shall conduct research, analyze, draft, prepare memorandum and policy, program and project guidance as needed and under the supervision of the Workforce Coordinator. This will include direct discussion with all external partners as needed.
Representative Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide both written and functional
assistance as requested.
2. Update and maintain board website(s).
3. Create outreach materials including flyers,
brochures and mailings.
4. Conduct outreach by phone, email or U.S.
mail.
5. All other tasks as needed.
Skills & Knowledge:
Knowledge of: Modern office methods and equipment; parliamentary
procedures with board meetings; support activities related to the office;
principals of supervision.
Ability to: Learn and prepare an accurate and concise record of the proceedings
of AWWIB / TCWIB and other related meetings; organize work effectively; type at a speed
of not less than 35 words per minute from clear copy; deal tactfully and
courteously with County officials, officials of other agencies, the general public,
and the press.

and verbal.
2. Possess strong organization skills and the
ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
3. Ability to meet time frames in fast-paced
office environment.
4. Possess sufficient knowledge of workforce
development programs in order to contribute to product or service.
5. Type with a high degree of accuracy, create
letters and other short correspondence from tapes and be proficient in
Microsoft word, excel spreadsheet programs and basic publishing programs.
6. Ability to work well with customers, co-workers, and supervisor.

Education/Experience:
Actively working on an Associate or Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
